Artist-in-Residency “Histories”

From September 14 till September 30, 2022 Art-hotel Panorama in
Pyrgadikia will organize an artist-in-residency program on the topic “Histories”
open to all ages and all visual art disciplines: painting, drawing, photography,
acting, performance.
Languages: Greek, English, German.
The aim of our program is to inspire and support artists who are interested in
the landscape of Chalkidiki, in its diversity and in Greek culture in general.
Getting in close contact with all these during the residency period will give
them the opportunity to produce unique works of art according to their
impressions and perceptions. We also aim at providing participants with a
setting and a daily routine which encourages engaging in a dialogue with
each other.
We are looking for artists who have a genuine interest in what we have to
offer, value the company of other artists and are also excited to engage in the
exchange of ideas and experiences with them. We believe that especially
artists who want to reflect on their work or to explore new directions will
definitely profit from our program. The minimum number of participants will be
4 and the maximum 8 artists.
Communal spaces in the building and the garden will be adapted to offer workspace
for the participants. For participants who want to paint during their stay there are 4
rooms (22sqm each) in the ground floor of the hotel available at no extra cost. If you
want to make use of one of these rooms, mention it in your application form. It will
be reserved for you as soon as we have received your deposit. In addition, there is
one room of 40m2 available at no extra cost for a participant wanting to do
performance or acting. If you want to make use of this space mention it in your
application form, as well. It will be reserved for you as soon as we have received
your deposit. For participants not working in one of the disciplines mentioned above,
there will be working tables available in the common spaces on the ground floor of
the hotel.
On September 30 there will be an event at the hotel, which will allow the
participants to present the work they have produced during the residency
program. There is also the possibility to have one’s work exhibited in a venue
in the center of Thessaloniki later during the year.

The fee for the whole residency period is 560 Euro which includes:
- A room with a balcony, 2 beds, a bathroom and a small fridge, Wi-Fi but
